Lana Del Rey – Video Games 7/19/2011

I’m looking forward to an official release of this. It sounds as if the mp3 below was ripped from the video, so it has the sound effects. They feel right in the video, but less so in the audio track.

UPDATE 7/29: See? Marina Diamandis likes her too. We think alike.

Could not handle @LanaDelRey’s beauty tonight. She is 1 of the true beauty queens. Listen to her music. Love u, gf.

Listen and enjoy. Try to have a guy-on-the-left-type attitude about it, rather than a guy-on-the-right one.

Violens: Violent Sensation Descends 1/15/2009

More music posts! Overdue on this here blog. This song’s great. Referred to me by a man named Razzak. Sounds kind of 60s-ish British psychedelic meets Voxtrot, or something. Better descriptions welcome in comments!

I’m not going to say anything about the band, other than that they’re supposedly pronounced VY-lens, in protest of the fact that they think that having a MySpace page is a substitute for having a normal website.

Stop listening to this song! Especially you, Raz.

The Cloud Room: Hey Now Now 8/5/2006

This song is good! The album, apparently, not so good. Pitchfork wraps up their review by saying: “still, if they get so excited about the mundane details of travel (‘paaaaaaaaayed the bus faaaaaaaare!’), then maybe touring outside of New York will give them more material as worthy as ‘Hey Now Now’.”

Favourite Sons: Hang On Girl 6/29/2006

Geez Louise!  Good news from the Favourite Sons: they’ve signed to Vice Records and have a record due on September 12!

Also, You Ain’t No Picasso has some live recordings of a recent KEXP-sponsored event in Soho.

TV on the Radio rocks.  And so does this video from the Touch-and-Go Records site YouTube.

Palomar: Albacore 7/28/2005

Watch the new video by Palomar for their upcoming album.  It provides an important illustrated history of the band.  Also be sure to listen to
Knockout from their last album.  Sadly, it cuts off.  But then there you are.  I’m not saying anything.
