Just made a donation to C. Murray Consulting for the excellent Recommended Reading: Google Reader Shared WordPress plugin that’s powering that part of the sidebar. It’s a well-conceived product, worth using and supporting.

Site of the Year, Continued 7/1/2006

netvibes2

Netvibes continues to be such a good site! Not only should you start using it STAT, but you should also try out the various plugins. I think I’m currently using at least half of the options under ‘Add Content…’ and I’m starting to explore the Netvibes Ecosystem for third party modules as well. This is definitely the most rewarding new website I’ve used this year, still very much deserving of its 2006 JR.C SotY award (which it won back in April).

Once you’re all set up, don’t forget to add me to your netvibes.

The Site of the Year 4/7/2006

netvibes

Despite its pedestrian-sounding name, Netvibes is totally rad.  In fact, I am honoring Netvibes with the much-coveted JRDC Site of the Year award for 2006.

What does it do? Why don’t you just go find out for yourself and stop reading this? Ok, Netvibes is a fully customizable, fully AJAX web portal with an emphasis on RSS aggregation.  It’s like Bloglines or My Yahoo, but more elegant and less corporate.  If you’re already a blog reader, you can start by importing your OPML file and you’ll be up in no time. If you’re not, note that the RSS feed for this site is http://feeds.feedburner.com/jrdc.

Happy Friday!
